Access to more than 5,000 aircraft worldwide across every class, from four-seat turboprops to ultra-long-range heavy jets and VIP airliners. Jet Hire Direct is a broker, not an operator, so the aircraft we recommend is chosen for your route and passenger count rather than because we happen to own it. The classes below are the practical starting point for most journeys.

Turboprops

Typically 6 to 9 passengers, 2 to 3 hours of range. King Air 350, Pilatus PC-12. The most economical way to fly privately on short domestic legs, and able to use short and unpaved runways that jets cannot - which often puts you closer to your actual destination.

Light jets

Typically 6 to 8 passengers, around 3 hours of range. Citation CJ3, Phenom 300, Learjet 75. The workhorse of UK and short-haul European charter: London to Geneva, Paris, Amsterdam or Dublin. Cabin is comfortable seated but usually not full stand-up height.

Midsize jets

Typically 7 to 9 passengers, 4 to 5 hours of range. Citation XLS+, Learjet 60, Hawker 900XP. Stand-up cabin, proper baggage capacity, and enough range for the whole of Europe, North Africa and the near Atlantic islands non-stop.

Super midsize jets

Typically 8 to 10 passengers, 6 to 7 hours of range. Challenger 350, Citation Longitude, Gulfstream G280. Transatlantic-capable on favourable routings, faster cruise, and a noticeably quieter cabin for working in flight.

Heavy jets

Typically 10 to 16 passengers, 7 to 9 hours of range. Challenger 605, Falcon 900, Gulfstream G450. Separate cabin zones, full galley, and enclosed lavatory. The standard choice for UK to Gulf, UK to US East Coast, and larger corporate groups.

Ultra-long-range jets

Typically 12 to 19 passengers, 12 to 15 hours of range. Global 6000, Gulfstream G650, Falcon 7X. Non-stop London to Los Angeles, Singapore, Hong Kong or Bangkok, with sleeping configurations and full-height cabins.

Helicopters

Typically 4 to 8 passengers. AW109, EC135, Bell 429. Point-to-point transfers, airport connections and event access where a runway is not available. See helicopter charter.

VIP airliners and group aircraft

20 to 500+ passengers. Embraer Lineage, ACJ319, Boeing 737 and full commercial airframes for sports teams, tour parties and corporate movements. See group charter.

Choosing between them

Passenger count and stage length decide the class; after that the differences are cabin comfort and baggage volume. Paying for more aircraft than the route needs is the most common way to overspend on charter, and paying for less is the most common way to end up with an unplanned fuel stop.
