Private Jet Hire – Demand Increases

At this time of year the demand for private jet hire usually decreases as we enter the holiday period. However this year has seen an enormous increase in demand for private jets.

What’s more is the fact that there has been a shift from short distance journeys in light jets towards heavy jets and long haul flights.

From January to November of this year, European demand for flights has been weighted towards Heavy/Long Haul and Light jets who have dominated the charter market. Each has around a 30% demand in each category. In December the Heavy/Long Haul aircraft demand has increased to 42% with Light Jet demand falling to around 12%.

This in part may well be due to the fact that the emerging markets are seeing a rise in demand for private jets. Countries such as India, China and Russia are boasting an ever increasing number of super rich.

Another interesting trend is the fact that demand for midsized jets has also increased during this time period. Demand for midsized jets has moved up by 40%.
