Palma de Mallorca is situated about 5 miles outside of Palma on the Island of Majorca. Palma itself is the main city on Majorca which forms one of the Balearic Islands of the coast of Spain. Restoration work was carried on the Cathedral in the 1800’s. In 1901 Antoni Gaudi took over the project. However he abandoned the project in 1914 due to an argument with the contractor.
